An Oviedo native and Oviedo High School Alumni has finally received an honor long overdue; the Medal of Honor. After long-time and tireless efforts of the Cashe Family, his commanders, and the community, Sgt. First Class Alwyn C. Cashe was awarded the Medal of Honor December 16th in a ceremony held at the White House. President Biden said about Cashe in his remarks, "Cashe was a soldier's soldier - a warrior who literaly walked through fire for his troops."
